As a longtime supplier of quality manufactured TecsPak® thermoplastic elastomer energy management systems, we’re heavily involved in our nation’s robust manufacturing industry. Our products are used in many different industries, including the automotive, transportation, mining, appliance, sporting goods, and energy industries. Currently, American Manufacturing is growing in terms of output, education initiatives, and community involvement.
American manufacturing is expanding rapidly and benefiting our nation’s economy significantly. According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, manufacturing output is worth more than $2 trillion. Surprisingly enough, China and the European Union are the only other countries that can compete with us in terms of manufacturing output. Furthermore, American manufacturers are working hard to promote careers and programs within the manufacturing industry. Although the number of manufacturing jobs in America has decreased since the 1970s, there are still about 12 million manufacturing factory based jobs in America.
Today, education is playing a big role in the manufacturing industry. Various companies and organizations are working to close the skills-gap, or the lack of necessary training to fill open specialized jobs. Countless school districts, universities, and organizations are focusing heavily on STEM related subjects, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We fully support STEM education initiatives and hope that other American manufacturers continue to support education programs to further develop our nation’s manufacturing industry.
Community involvement is another important aspect of the American manufacturing industry. Throughout the month of October, a number of different companies and organizations are inviting their local community into their facilities to learn more about the manufacturing industry, jobs, processes, and community outreach efforts. To find an event in your area, check out the Manufacturing Day website.
